Who does he think he is?
Scott Valentino is an internet strategy consultant and experienced developer of informational websites. His particular focus is on the needs of small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals.
Scott has worked as an Internet Consultant & Web Site Developer since the beginning of the internet revolution in the mid-90's. As the sole proprietor of sevmedia, he has been offering a full range of consulting services to various clients in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Pacific Northwest, and Southern California regarding the use of computer technology and the internet. His design services include website design, instructional design, graphic design, database design as well as traditional branding and identity work.
Before forming sevmedia, Scott worked for several larger companies and consultant groups specializing in on-site training courses and the development of distance learning programs. Scott is an award-winning innovator in the development of internet and computer-based education software for the rapidly growing high-technology marketplace.
In addition to his primary design interests, Scott has always had a passion for community-building and social transformation. His on-going studies concern human and organizational transformation as well as practical explorations in the field of ecopsychology. He is keenly interested in social change movements, and is a founding member of Sustainable Fairfax, Marin's premiere sustainability organization. He has traveled extensively, taught English abroad through the International House, and has worked as an international adventure tour leader with Trek America.
One of the most powerful experiences of Scott's life has been working as a Parental Advocate through Family Support Services of San Francisco, where he counseled parents and caregivers of young children as part of the San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Council's TALK Line program. In this role, Scott was responsible for providing emotional support for families in crisis and helping underserved populations make effective use of dwindling social services in San Francisco County.
After a long and varied career, Scott's design projects are branching outside the digital realm. He holds a Permaculture Design Certificate and has brought his design sensibility to built environments, both inside and out. He has consulted on the design of multiple custom homes as well as commercial spaces and has enjoyed success since 2011 as a maker through his workshop: Refind Studios.
